Things to Avoid Before Your Eyebrow Microblading Session

There are a few things you need to know in order to get the best results from your Eyebrow Microblading session. Just as you would take care of your brows after the procedure, you also need to properly prep them before your session. Your skin needs to be in good condition to proceed with the treatment in order for the pigment to last and to avoid complications. Here are a few things you need to take in mind:

  • Do not pluck or wax your eyebrows atleast a week before your session. In order for your beauty therapist to create the best shape that works for your face, your current eyebrow shape will be examined and measured.

  • Refrain from exfoliating your skin atleast 3 days prior. Make sure your face has not gone through any facial or skin treatment as this makes your skin sensitive and prone to irritation. It is important to keep your skin as insensitive as much as possible to limit bleeding.

  • Avoid using Vitamin A/Retinol products for a week before your session. These products can simply interfere with the results of the Microblading treatment.

  • In order to avoid excessive bleeding during the treatment, do not take Fish Oil or Vitamin E atleast a week prior as these products act as blood thinners.

  • Refrain from sun bathing a week prior to avoid sunburn and any redness on your face. Avoid Botox and other cosmetic injections at least 2 weeks before your Eyebrow Microblading session.

  • Before your treatment, you need to avoid too much sweating so do not go to the gym and work out. Sweat leaves oils on your skin which creates a barrier and pushes the pigment out. Drinking alcohol before your treatment can also cause excessive bleeding, so it’s best to avoid drinking it, as well as ibuprophin and aspirin.
